Distintivo H
What is the Distintivo "H" program?
With the intention to diminish the incidence of diseases transmitted by foods and to improve the image of Mexico at a world-wide level, since 1990, a National program of Hygienic Food Handling, Distintivo "H", was created for all fixed food and drink establishments was implemented in our country.
The Distintivo "H" is a recognition that the Secretary of Tourism and the Secretariat of Health grants to those fixed food and drink establishments: (restaurants in general, hotel restaurants, cafeterias, boardinghouses etc.), that fulfill the hygiene standards that mark Mexican Norm NMX-F605 NORMEX 2004.
Program "H" is a 100% PREVENTIVE one, which assures warning of a contamination that could cause disease transmitted by foods; this program contemplates a qualification program to 80% of the operative personnel and to the 100% of the average and high command personnel. This qualification is given by an instructor registered with profile in the chemistry-doctor-biological area.
in March 2002, La Parrilla, with the continuous commitment to offer the highest quality to our clients, decided to initiate the project to obtain the Distintivo "H".
During several months, the average and high command personnel of La Parrilla received qualification from an instructor registered with a profile in the chemical area - dictated by a group of experts in this field.
After carrying out the adjustments required in the facilities, courses in the areas of purchase, warehouse, slaughter, cooks, cleaning and service were carried out. The restaurant was inspected, with positive results, allowing the Secretary of Federal Tourism to grant us the Distintivo "H".
In a formal ceremony, recognition was given to the personnel of La Parrilla on March 17, 2004, by the Secretary of State Tourism, Mr. Guillermo Martinez.
In order to obtain the Distintivo "H" from the Secretary of Tourism, one must have a commitment to quality, like La Parrilla constantly practices with its clients.
