The Distintivo "T"

The Distintivo "T" is a recognition that is given to hotels, restaurants, and any establishment that sells authentic tequila. It was created in 2003 by the Regulating Council of the Tequila and National Industry of Tequila due to the necessity to preserve the authenticity of the product and to protect the Denomination of Origin.

Denomination of Origin is the name that is given to a geographic region of the country that serves to destinguish an original product, and whose quality and characteristics must be geographically exclusive, taking into consideration natural and human factors.

Tequila is a liquor created in a small region of Mexico by means of distilling the fermented heart of the well-known "blue agave" plant. The production and commercialization are subject to the Mexican Official Norm.

The benefit of the Distintivo "T" is ensuring the consumption of certified tequila. In addition, the establishment will be tequila certified and have annual qualification regarding the culture of tequila and the quality of service.
